Stable Squad

Stable Squad is the new club for junior supporters of World Horse Welfare.

The Brief

Stable Squad is a new fundraising initiative by World Horse Welfare, an international charity seeking to protect all horses, donkeys and mules. The new club needed a visual identity that would attract and engage young horse enthusiasts while feeling in keeping with the over-arching World Horse Welfare corporate identity.

The Solution

The look and feel for Stable Squad quickly became about bright colours, playful shapes and an overall hand-drawn feel - with the logo, accompanying assets and illustrations all feeling like they could have been drawn from a felt tip pen - giving it a child-like aesthetic while remaining professional.

Illustrations

We commissioned illustrator Emma Baker to bring the Stable Squad brand mascots to life - Jet, Crumpet and Sage. These characters were inspired by the LeMieux toy ponies that members would receive one of in their welcome pack.

The illustrations adopted the same black, fluid outline as the logo and iconography, to form a recognisable identity.

Welcome pack

When new Stable Squad members sign up to the club, they receive a welcome pack containing lots of goodies including an exclusive LeMieux toy pony, a certificate, membership card, stickers, character top trumps cards and their first Stable Squad magazine - the reoccurring feature of the club.

Marketing materials

The team at World Horse Welfare required a wide variety of marketing materials to support the launch of Stable Squad.

I supported this process by creating artwork for magazine ads, posters, leaflets, banners, and more.

Results

Achieved 50% of its annual subscription target within the first month of launching!

Testimonial

Emily was instrumental in developing the branding for an important new fundraising initiative for World Horse Welfare, Stable Squad. Emily came highly recommended to me and very quickly proved herself to be a consummate professional. She is extremely good at communicating from the outset, reassuring us that our project was in good hands. She translated our brief extremely well, meaning we quickly became a collaborative and productive team. We worked to tight deadlines and strict budgets and Emily enabled us to meet every project milestone. Despite the fact that she is a freelance consultant, Emily now genuinely feels like an extension of our team. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her.
